Mediation

The objective of this program is to provide crucial assistance to women and children in navigating the legal system and ensuring they have access to the necessary legal protection and support following their experiences of abuse. It specifically addresses the legal challenges faced by survivors of physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological abuse. Survivors of abuse often face significant barriers in accessing justice and legal support due to the trauma they've experienced, as well as the complexity of legal processes. This program is designed to reduce these barriers, offering practical and accessible legal services to empower survivors.

We will connect survivors with legal professionals who offer free initial consultations, ensuring they have access to expert legal advice early in their journey. This service will help them understand their legal rights and the steps necessary to secure protection orders, such as domestic violence orders (DVOs), along with other legal actions related to custody, visitation rights, and safety. Additionally, we will assist with applications for domestic violence orders, custody agreements, and other legal matters that arise as women and children seek to escape abusive situations.

Mediation support will also be provided for women navigating legal interactions with their abusive ex-partners. For many women, dealing with ex-partners during legal proceedings, especially concerning custody and visitation, can be emotionally challenging and intimidating.
